Rs 13 Crore Cocaine Seized, Woman Detained at Mumbai's CSMI Airport

At Mumbai's CSMI Airport, a woman from Cote d'Ivoire was apprehended by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) after they found drugs worth Rs 13 crore hidden in her handbag. The 1,273 grams of cocaine  discovered during a routine check on a flight from Addis Ababa.

At Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport, a significant enforcement operation led to the detainment of an individual found in possession of illicit substances valued at a staggering Rs 13 Crore. This apprehension took place under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).

The detained individual, identified as a woman, was intercepted upon her arrival via Flight No. ET 640 from Addis Ababa. She was later revealed to be a national of Cote d'Ivoire, a West African country. The DRI, acting on intelligence inputs, meticulously monitored and subsequently detained the passenger.

The diligent efforts of the DRI culminated in the discovery of narcotics concealed within the woman's handbag. The recovered contraband, specifically cocaine, amounted to an astounding 1,273 grams. The street value of this confiscated drug haul was estimated to be an imposing Rs 13 Crore.

The interception of such a substantial quantity of narcotics represents a major blow to the illegal drug trade, underscoring the significance of robust surveillance and enforcement measures at key transit points like airports.
