Nepalese authorities made significant arrests involving Indian nationals in separate incidents. Harishchandra Kumar Sudi, a 32-year-old from Bihar, was apprehended in Sarlahi district, Madhesh province, carrying the lifeless body of a newborn with the placenta still attached in a plastic bag. During a routine security check at a temple, police discovered the distressing contents in Sudi's possession and promptly took him into custody for further investigation.

The deceased infant's body, along with the placenta, was recovered and subsequently sent to the Provincial Hospital in Malangawa for a detailed postmortem examination to determine the cause of death and gather crucial evidence for the ongoing inquiry.

Simultaneously, another Indian national, 22-year-old Navauddin Chaudhary, faced arrest on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Hailing from Bihar as well, Chaudhary was caught with 580 grams of banned red sandalwood during a thorough security check on a passenger bus arriving in Kathmandu from Delhi.

These arrests shed light on cross-border security measures and the vigilant efforts of Nepalese authorities to curb illegal activities. The individuals involved have been taken into custody, emphasizing the severity of contraband possession and the legal consequences that follow such actions.

Both incidents underscore the need for heightened security checks and cooperation between neighboring countries to prevent the smuggling of illegal substances and deter activities that compromise safety and legality across borders.
