Only two weeks prior to this encounter, Zverev had already triumphed over Dimitrov in Cincinnati.

Looking ahead, he is set to face off against the sixth-seeded Jannik Sinner, who also claimed a four-set victory earlier in the day against the 2016 US Open winner, Stan Wawrinka with a scoreline of 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, and 6-2.The German tennis player, Alexander Zverev, secured his place in the fourth round with a four-set victory over Grigor Dimitrov on Sunday at the US Open.

Zverev demonstrated his exceptional talent by defeating the former World No. 3 with scores of 6-7(2), 7-6(8), 6-1, and 6-1. This achievement marked his fourth consecutive entry into the Round of 16 across recent tournaments.

US Open
Zverev advances to US Open 4th round, set to face Sinner.

In the upcoming match, Zverev is eager to further strengthen his 3-1 lead in the head-to-head record against Sinner. Their most recent encounter took place at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters back in 2017.

Sinner shared his thoughts on Zverev's performance, remarking, "Sascha (Zverev) is serving very, very well. Physically he is strong again.”

He further stated, “I know him maybe a little bit worse because I haven't played against him in a pretty long time now, so it would be nice to face him." His statement was quoted on ATP's official website.
