In the midst of an Ethics Committee probe, the Trinamool Congress intentionally chose Mahua Moitra as Krishnanagar's district president. Moitra expresses thanks on the X platform, promising to devote himself to Krishnanagar's well-being. This comes after the Ethics Committee recommended her removal from the Lok Sabha in a 'cash-for-query' issue.

On Monday, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) deliberately announced Mahua Moitra's selection as Krishnanagar's district president. This crucial political step was announced by the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on the social media site X. Moitra expressed appreciation to the TMC and its leader, Mamata Banerjee, and promised to work relentlessly for the people of Krishnanagar.

This development occurred in the middle of an ongoing Ethics Committee probe into TMC MP Mahua Moitra. Due to her suspected involvement in a 'cash-for-query' affair, the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee recommended her removal from the parliamentary body. The committee's report was approved with a 6:4 split vote.

Vinod Sonkar, the panel's chairman, said that six members backed the report on Moitra's 'cash-for-query' claims, while four opposed it. The Ethics Committee had painstakingly produced a report addressing the complaints about Moitra's behavior.

The political environment is seething with conjecture about the ramifications of Moitra's nomination and the recommendations of the Ethics Committee. This deliberate approach by the TMC in Krishnanagar is consistent with the party's efforts to manage the difficulties of the pending ethics investigation.

Mahua Moitra's new post as district president is expected to have a substantial impact on the local political dynamics in Krishnanagar. The party appears determined to weather the ethics inquiry, demonstrating tenacity and clever maneuvering in the face of political problems.
