Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's foreign minister, hinted that there was a possibility that Pakistan's recently elected administration may mend commercial relations with India.

As soon as the minister arrived back from his trip to the UK and Europe, he made the announcement. The declaration was made not long after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a thank-you note from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on social media platform X.

On the other hand, India has demanded that before any discussions about resuming business, Pakistan must send its senior diplomat back to India. As soon as India decided to alter Jammu and Kashmir's status, Pakistan withdrew its envoy and terminated activities in the region.

Dar made the statement. It is commonly thought that Dar wants to see India and Pakistan maintain their cordial relations. Dar's son is wed to Nawaz Sharif's daughter, with whom he maintains close relations. Given their shared history, India wishes to know if the Pakistani military backs Dar's allegations.

According to Dar, companies in Pakistan are eager to conduct business with India. Before deciding, the administration will consult with all parties involved. He made a subtle allusion to the strife in Kashmir when he suggested that Pakistan has to put its economy back on track before considering the possibility of mending relations with India.

In particular, he emphasized the difficulties that companies engaged in the global trade of textiles, agricultural products, and medical supplies confront as a result of the division between the countries. Dar raised the point that, even in cases when formal trade has been suspended, goods are still being exchanged through other nations, which drives up prices.

India and Pakistan aren't exactly in agreement when it comes to patching up their differences. Pakistan maintains that Jammu and Kashmir should remain a part of Pakistan, whereas India contends that the issue is internal and should not be discussed.
