Telangana's political landscape witnessed turbulence as the Income Tax Department conducted raids on key political figures, stirring controversy ahead of the impending Assembly polls. The primary target, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao, contesting from Miryalaguda in the November 30 polls, faced intense scrutiny with raids conducted at his office, residence, and associates' premises.

Representing Miryalaguda in Telangana, Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao, hailing from Shakapuram village, Nidamanoor Mandal, Nalgonda District, has been a prominent figure in Telangana's political spectrum. Engaged in various leadership roles, he actively participated in the state's formation and has served as Miryalaguda's MLA since 2014.

The IT department's actions extended beyond Rao, targeting Telangana Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy's relatives in Hyderabad, specifically Pradeep's residence in Gachibowli. Simultaneously, Congress leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy's residence in Khammam district faced similar raids ahead of his contest from the Palair constituency.

Telangana, poised for the November 30 Assembly elections, braces for a fierce triangular battle among the BRS, Congress, and BJP. In the backdrop of the impending polls, these raids have intensified political tensions, setting the stage for a contentious electoral faceoff.

The 2018 Telangana Assembly Election results saw the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) clinch a resounding victory with 88 seats out of 119, surpassing the majority mark. Congress secured 19 seats, while AIMIM and other parties made notable gains. This election's political dynamics hint at a heated contest as Telangana readies itself for another critical electoral chapter.
