In a thrilling SA20 final, Sunrisers Eastern Cape retained their title by overpowering Durban's Super Giants with a dominating performance. Winning the toss proved advantageous for Sunrisers, who elected to bat first on their home ground. Despite an early setback with the loss of opener Dawid Malan, the team rallied brilliantly. Jordan Hermann and Tom Abell stabilized the innings with a crucial partnership of 90 runs. While Hermann scored 42 runs off 26 balls, Abell contributed 55 runs off 34 deliveries before their dismissals.

The momentum didn't wane as Sunrisers' captain Aiden Markram and Tristan Stubbs took over the proceedings. Markram's steady knock of 42* off 56 balls complemented Stubbs' explosive innings of 56* off just 30 deliveries. Their partnership propelled Sunrisers to a formidable total of 204/2. Super Giants, in pursuit of the target, faced early setbacks and struggled to build momentum.

Sunrisers' left-arm speedster, Marco Jansen, proved to be the nemesis for Super Giants with an outstanding five-wicket haul. With the opposition faltering at 115 all out in 17 overs, Sunrisers celebrated their triumph. Despite the loss, Super Giants found solace in Heinrich Klaasen's stellar performance throughout the tournament. Klaasen's remarkable batting display earned him the Player of the Tournament award, amassing 447 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 207.90, second only to Ryan Rickleton of MI Cape Town.
