As the highly anticipated India-Pakistan World Cup showdown approaches, the Indian cricket team has arrived in Ahmedabad. Shubman Gill, who was battling dengue, is making a remarkable recovery and has joined the net practice sessions.

Gill's return to the nets has generated hope that he might be considered for the crucial match against arch-rival Pakistan. However, it remains uncertain whether the team will take the risk of including the recovering Gill in the lineup for this 'Battle Royale' at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The 22-year-old cricketer had to miss the initial two games against Australia and Afghanistan due to his illness. Nonetheless, there is a strong likelihood of him being included in the playing XI for the marquee clash against the arch-rivals. In a proactive move, the Indian team arranged a special net session for Gill before their arrival in Ahmedabad, deploying their left-arm throwdown specialist, Nuwan Seneviratne.

Upon his arrival at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gill engaged in some warm-up exercises and sprints under the watchful eyes of team doctor Rizwan. He then proceeded to the nets for practice. Gill's training regimen was designed to prepare him for the challenges posed by Shaheen Shah Afridi's left-arm deliveries, as well as the 150 km/h+ sidearm thunderbolts from the Sri Lankan specialist.

During an extended practice session, Gill faced both throwdowns and net bowlers. He appeared comfortable and at ease while confronting the deliveries. This is a remarkable feat for a player who, just a few days ago, had a platelet count as low as 70,000 and was hospitalized due to dengue.

While Gill's recovery has been impressive, the final decision regarding his participation in the match will depend on the assessment by coach Rahul Dravid and the medical team after his Friday session. The decision will consider how his body responds to the intense heat and whether he can withstand the conditions during a game starting at 2 p.m. immediately after recovering from dengue.

Shubman Gill's determination and hard work in overcoming his health setback have instilled optimism among fans, and his potential inclusion in the India-Pakistan clash is eagerly anticipated by cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
