In a harrowing incident at the Vijayawada bus stand in Andhra Pradesh, a State Road Transport Corporation bus ploughed into the platform, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives and injuring two others. The incident, which unfolded on Monday, November 6, was captured on camera, shocking viewers across the region.

The terrifying incident was caught on CCTV, showing an APSRTC AC Metro luxury bus, initially stationary, slowly moving forward and colliding with the platform. The impact caused the bus to break through the railing, leading to a devastating outcome. Tragically, even a passerby was caught in the chaos, further adding to the casualties. The accident transpired at platform number 12 of the Pandit Nehru bus station.

The immediate aftermath of the accident was chaos, with passengers scrambling to save themselves from the oncoming bus. The shocking footage circulated on social media, intensifying the impact of the incident.

In response to this tragedy, an inquiry has been initiated. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of APSRTC, held discussions with RTC officials and passengers affected by the incident. He assured the public that an in-depth investigation into the accident is underway.

The 60-year-old bus driver, coupled with the bus itself, is under scrutiny as part of the investigation. Authorities are looking into whether the bus accident resulted from a technical fault or driver error. While the 24 passengers on board the bus emerged unharmed, the medical expenses of the injured have been promised to be covered by the RTC.

This horrific incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety of public transportation systems and the need for stringent safety measures to prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
