In a recurring issue, social media has once again highlighted the problem of passengers traveling without tickets on Indian Railways, despite repeated warnings from authorities. A recent video has emerged featuring a police officer traveling on a train without a valid ticket. When confronted by the vigilant ticket-checking staff, a heated argument ensued, drawing the attention of individuals from various corners, who expressed their outrage at the officer's behavior.

The viral video was initially shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by the user "Ghar Ke Kalesh." The video depicted the police officer occupying a window seat on the Vande Bharat train. When questioned about his lack of a ticket, the officer offered an explanation for his actions. However, the Ticket Examiner (TTE) remained unconvinced. Another passenger in the video suggested that the officer disembark at the next station, but the cop insisted on continuing the journey, claiming it was his first time riding without a ticket.

The video prompted a barrage of public reactions, with many people expressing their frustration and disbelief. Some of the comments on the incident included:

One commentator noted, "If an ordinary person faces a traffic violation, would a police officer allow them to escape without paying the fine?"

Another individual recounted an incident, stating, "Yesterday, I witnessed a police officer requesting free bananas from street vendors... There seems to be no limit to their audacity."

A user on X commented, "In our country, rules often seem to apply only to the common citizens and not to the privileged ones. As an officer, he should be setting an example, but he appears to be abusing his position. Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated occurrence; it's a common issue."

Addressing the broader issue of police officers' behavior, another X user remarked, "This is the state of police officers. What can we expect from the general public?"

In response to the video, one user shared a personal experience, revealing, "A similar incident occurred to me five years ago. Police officers were on election duty and entered the 3AC compartment, filling it with all sorts of equipment. However, a complaint led to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) intervening at the next station. They requested the officers to move to the sleeper coach, and they disembarked two stations later."

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for accountability and adherence to the rules, even among those entrusted with upholding the law. The public's reaction demonstrates the growing demand for transparency and fairness in all walks of life, irrespective of one's position or privilege.
