PM Modi Honors Tribal Icon Birsa Munda on Birth Anniversary During Jharkhand Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Jharkhand, landing in Ranchi at 10 pm on Tuesday. Amidst tight security, he held a 45-minute roadshow from Birsa Munda airport to Raj Bhavan, greeted by thousands lining the route, showering flower petals.

On Wednesday, PM Modi paid heartfelt tributes to tribal icon Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary, expressing wishes for Tribal Pride Day on the social media platform X. The highlight of the visit is the PM's journey to Ulihatu, Birsa Munda's village, a first in the country's history.

During this special visit, PM Modi plans to pay homage to Birsa Munda, meet family members, and participate in the 'Tribal Pride Day' program in Khunti. The occasion is also marked by the launch of the Rs 24,000 crore "Tribal Mission," a significant step towards the development of tribal communities.

The visit includes the flagging off of the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and the release of the 15th installment of the PM Kisan Scheme from Birsa College. This initiative, amounting to over Rs. 18,000 crore for more than 8 crore farmers, supports their agricultural and incidental needs, contributing to a cumulative transfer exceeding Rs 2.80 lakh crore.

The significance of PM Modi's presence in Ulihatu is emphasized as he joins the birth anniversary program of Amar Shaheed Birsa Munda. The day is marked by the launch of several schemes totaling Rs 24,000 crore and the inauguration of the PVTG Development Mission.

In addition, the PM extends greetings to Jharkhand on its 23rd foundation day, acknowledging the state's contributions to the country's progress. His visit underscores a commitment to the welfare and development of tribal communities, aligning with the essence of Tribal Pride Day and Jharkhand's Foundation Day celebrations.
