In an anticipated move, Gautam Gambhir, a two-time IPL-winning captain with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is making a heartfelt comeback as a mentor for the IPL 2024 season. After contributing as a mentor for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gambhir expressed his eagerness to continue his successful journey with KKR. Shah Rukh Khan, the team's co-owner, expressed delight in having the iconic captain back in a new role within the franchise.

Gambhir, typically composed, confessed to experiencing unique emotions returning to where his IPL triumphs began, citing the deep-rooted sentiment associated with donning the team's purple and gold jersey. His association with KKR holds cherished memories, having led the team to two IPL triumphs during his seven-year stint. Collaborating with head coach Chandrakant Pandit, alongside players like Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana, Gambhir aims to instill a resilient spirit and the essence of sportsmanship within Team KKR.
