Four arrested from Ambala for allegedly Attacking Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad

Four individuals have been apprehended by the Ambala unit of Haryana Special Task Force, in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Police, for their alleged involvement in the recent firing incident targeting Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad 'Raavan' in Deoband.


The arrested suspects, identified as Vikas, Prashant, Lovish from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and Vikas from Karnal, Haryana, were taken into custody near a dhaba in Shahzadpur, Ambala. It is yet to be determined if they were residing in a hideout in the Ambala area. No weapons were recovered from the individuals at the time of their arrest.

The incident occurred when Chandra Shekhar Azad was traveling in an SUV, and unidentified assailants fired upon his vehicle at Gandhi Colony in Deoband. Azad sustained injuries and was promptly taken to SBD hospital for medical attention. He has since been discharged from the hospital.


The Uttar Pradesh Police had previously registered an FIR and detained three suspects for questioning after the vehicle used in the attack was discovered. A case of attempted murder under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, has been registered at Deoband police station.

Expressing his concern over the situation, Chandra Shekhar Azad conveyed his dissatisfaction with the authorities, stating that he believes the attackers could not act with impunity without support from those in power. He further asserted that the government's silence on the matter indicated negligence in handling the case.


The arrested individuals have been handed over to the Uttar Pradesh Police for further investigation into the matter. The authorities are diligently working towards uncovering the motive behind the attack and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
