Day 5 Box Office Report: Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' Still Struggling

Vicky Kaushal's film 'Sam Bahadur' struggled at the box office, earning Rs 32.55 crore in five days. Despite a strong start, the biographical drama faced a drastic drop in collections during weekdays. This led to comparisons with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal,' which performed exceptionally well throughout the week.

In the recent box office battle, Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' faced an uphill struggle, contrasted starkly by Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal.' Released simultaneously, 'Animal' swiftly shattered box office records from its theatrical debut, while 'Sam Bahadur' witnessed a modest performance in its opening weekend. However, the tides turned drastically for 'Sam Bahadur' as its collection plummeted during the weekdays, hampering its trajectory towards a significant box office triumph.

According to Sacnilk.com, 'Sam Bahadur' accumulated a mere Rs 3.5 crore on Tuesday, marking its total net collection in India at Rs 32.55 crore after five days. The initial weekend saw a commendable performance, raking in over Rs 25 crore despite a limited number of screens compared to its competitor, 'Animal.'

The weekday struggle became apparent, with the film experiencing a substantial decline each passing day. The figures unveiled a notable drop: from Rs 6.25 crore on Friday to Rs 3.5 crore on both Monday and Tuesday. The dwindling occupancy, nearly half compared to 'Animal' on Day 5, further underscored 'Sam Bahadur's' challenges.

The industry's commentary also highlighted 'Animal's' remarkable run during the weekdays. Sacnilk Entertainment's praise on X (formerly Twitter) lauded 'Animal's' unprecedented weekday performance, hailing it as a revolutionary feat in Indian cinema.

Jaya Dwivedi's review of 'Sam Bahadur' emphasized its engaging storytelling despite being a biography, lauding Meghna Gulzar's direction. Vicky Kaushal's portrayal of Sam Manekshaw's life garnered acclaim for its charismatic depiction, infusing humor and romance effectively.

'Sam Bahadur,' set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, showcases Vicky Kaushal in the lead role directed by Meghna Gulzar. The film also features a stellar supporting cast, including Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Govind Namdev, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Neeraj Kabi.
