Day 1 of the Test series India vs West Indies began on 12th July, 2023 with a positive response from the Indian audience. Where Yashasvi Jaiswal debuted with a four and shone bright with bat while Ravichandran Ashwin stole the limelight with the ball by taking 5 wickets of WI.


Day 1 ended with a bundled out WI with a score of 150 runs. The host's score was given a positive response from Indian openers.


At the end of first day at Windsor Park, Yashasvi stood not out with a score of 40 and Rohit Sharma remained undefeated at 30.
