Home Minister Amit Shah lauded Operation Sindoor as Bharat’s strong response to the Pahalgam terror attack. He praised the armed forces and reaffirmed the Modi government’s resolve to root out terrorism. Shah said India will respond firmly to any aggression, reflecting the nation's zero-tolerance stance on cross-border terrorism.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly endorsed Operation Sindoor, calling it "Bharat’s response" to the brutal killing of innocent civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. In a post on X, Shah praised the Indian armed forces for carrying out precise strikes on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which were linked to anti-India groups.

“Proud of our armed forces. Operation Sindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam,” Shah wrote, adding that the Modi government is committed to delivering a decisive blow to terrorism. “We will give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots,” he stated.

The strikes, launched at 1:44 AM on Wednesday, targeted high-value terrorist infrastructure run by groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. Indian intelligence agencies had identified these sites as operational bases used for training, indoctrination, and planning cross-border infiltration.

Amit Shah’s remarks align with the broader national sentiment that India must not tolerate terrorism originating from across the border. His statement came amid reports of heavy Pakistani shelling following the strikes and mounting diplomatic tension in the region.

Echoing Shah’s words, BJP president JP Nadda also emphasized that India under Prime Minister Modi will not remain silent. “Those who attack the soul of India will be given severe punishment,” Nadda said, underlining India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terror.

India’s Ministry of Defence reiterated that the strikes were carefully executed with "focus, measure, and restraint," and that no Pakistani military or civilian infrastructure was targeted, keeping the operation strictly non-escalatory.
