Simranjeet Singh, a talented 26-year-old hockey player from India, has made a remarkable comeback after battling injuries and poor form. He played a pivotal role in India's victory at the 2016 Junior World Cup and scored a brace in the opening match of the 2018 World Cup.

However, Simranjeet faced setbacks after the historic Olympic bronze medal win in Tokyo.

Following the Olympics, Simranjeet suffered a knee injury during a camp, which required rehabilitation instead of surgery. Despite his efforts, he was dropped from the core probables for the Indian team, missing out on important tournaments like the Pro League and the tour of Australia.

Despite these setbacks, Simranjeet chose to focus on overcoming the hurdles rather than dwelling on his exclusion. He performed exceptionally well in domestic tournaments, impressing the national selectors with his improved skills and contributions to his team's success.

His performances caught the attention of the selectors, and he was eventually recalled to the core group in March 2023.

During his time away from the national team, Simranjeet found solace in his family. He got married in October 2021, and the birth of his son coinciding with his absence from the squad, provided him with valuable support and motivation.
